LGR & RGVSHOWOFF Cars + Coffee + Brewery

“Don’t call it a comeback…”
I know, I’m actually putting up something on here! And as much as I want to start making this a regular thing, I know saying so will end up just jinxing things and then oop! another year goes by. But after celebrating our anniversary out in San Antonio, my girl and I went to a Cars and Coffee we heard about the night before. I hadn’t shot anything car-related in a good while, so when we got back home and I heard about this event, I knew I had to make it out again. As usual the LGR crew brings the heat, along with the RGVShowoff guys bringing out a great collection of cars.

And on that note: Hey Siri, play LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out”

I love all things cars – and I’m a sucker for a good espresso tonic – so I really didn’t need more incentives to set my alarms pretty early on a Saturday morning. Hell, I even got up a little earlier to rinse my car down because every morning I wake up to it being covered in a layer of yellow dust thanks to this damn tree in the yard. I got to the event a little early, ordered my go-to coffee drink, and struck up a conversation while checking out some of the rides that had already started setting up. I don’t typically venture out to the “hang out” type of events – but I’m pretty sure I needed it. As much as I love the motorsports, I’m starting to realize that these events are something I should attend every so often, too. Not even to necessarily cover all the time, but just to get out there and see what’s happening locally. I used to do it all the time, every damn Thursday I was out there walking around and seeing what was new at whatever spot we were hanging at that week. It’s hard to stay motivated these days, and it’s even harder to try to stay creative. This feeling of wanting to do things but feeling like there isn’t enough time has been my excuse for the past two years already. I feel like a lot of you know what I’m talking about. The photographers, the musicians, the artists, anyone that creates on any sort of medium is going through it – or maybe it’s just me? Whatever the case may be, this event was the first of many baby steps to getting back to being creative again while enjoying it. I won’t be giving myself hard deadlines because this is, and always was, meant to be fun. I mean damn- it’s all about cars, what isn’t fun about that?
