The Final Day of Drift – Goodbye 2016
This has been by far one of my favorite years running this blog, and a lot of it has to do with the type of coverage I was able to get this year. SAR (San Antonio Raceway) has almost become a second home to me and the guys from the ZeroGrip drift club, the first event I attended out there was in April, and its only fair that for our last event coverage piece it ends with the years final Day of Drift Event.

A Night of Drift : Paul Walker Memorial – San Antonio Tx!
In the all to common procrastination fashion that is my writing process these days, here I am at 5am finishing up this article just hours before its scheduled to be released. Why do I do this to myself…why?!? It’s always hard to start putting out articles at the end of the year because I never know if there will be one more event that I’ll be able to go to – this year has been awesome and there have been a lot of firsts for me this year, besides finally mastering tying a tie (jk). This would be my first time shooting a night drift event, and I think I’m hooked.

The Road to Super D Matsuri
It was September 27th, a Tuesday, when I got the email; “Welcome to Super D Matsuri at Grange Motor Circuit…If you are receiving this email, your media application has been accepted and approved”. I don’t think I’ve re-read anything more times just to be certain I wasn’t seeing things, this was the final piece missing from the planned trip some friends and I had decided to take for a few months now. We had our plane tickets, hotels reserved, car rental all good – and now I had confirmation I would be one of the few media guys out there on the track. This would be my first time in California, and the first big trip for any Gear-Trends coverage.
