The Road to ProAm
Sometimes planning things in advance don’t always pan out the way you hoped for, which is exactly what happened with a few of the shoots I had hoped to have setup for the Round 1 event. But when building a car to meet a deadline things can go either one of two ways, and unfortunately some of the cars I had booked weren’t able to make it to the event. Recently I heard these other cars are finishing up and I cant wait to get them up on here for you all to see, but fortunately for me there somehow is always a silver lining – maybe I’m just lucky? This is where Younis’s S13 stepped in to be a part of the Round 1 feature cars, I seriously need to make it to more of these!

Open Heart – Open Throttle
It had been 3 years since my last drift event, some friends of mine decided they would make it out to this drift clinic last December and I tagged along. I was mainly there to document the stuff on the track, off the track, and get to shoot cars doing things we really don’t see down here in the valley. Another thing we don’t see too often down here are fully kitted cars, let alone a car this like that that actually gets loose on the track. Me being the type of guy I am, I kept to myself and just took a few photos of Hunter’s car – posted them on the blog, and saw him share a few over different social networks. When I found out we’d be back up for the Lone Star Drift series for round 1 – I had to take a shot and see if he’d be interested in a feature.

Lone Star Drift – Round 1!
I hadn’t shot an official Round of the Lone Star Drift Series since back in 2013, Round 6, and I definitely am going to try to make up for that this year! I’m glad me and some friends were able to make the 6+ hour drive up from the RGV to get some great photos, I learned more about the event and how it all works since I’m still new to all this, and of course having some great times off the track as well!
