Staying The Course

I usually don’t stress about writing these articles, ok that’s a damn lie. Most times I just bullshit my way through it the day before I decide to release an article, and more times than not its just the ramblings of a bitter guy that’s not happy with where the car scene locally has gone. But I’m tired of that, sure things could be way better like for those of us that have been around long enough to recall the “golden years” – but it’s pointless to live in the past. Being able to see this car go from a completely stock and unmolested daily to what you see here along with a mod list most of us have only dreamed of getting to is something that’s in a way shifted my focus on things. This time instead of stressing over the article due to being the worlds largest procrastinator- this time it was due to something entirely different.

Right Place – Right Time

I rarely go to hangouts anymore, and it’s not like I drive around town looking for cars to feature – which really doesn’t seem like a bad idea. If you end up finding a Gear-Trends business card on a windshield would that be weird? Just thinking out loud here, anyways. The city of Harlingen was throwing a bicycle event and it all lead to the library where apparently a “car show” of sorts was happening. RGV Modern Mopar were posted up there, and once I had my fill of riding around my fixed gear bike like the true hipster I am- I struck up a conversation with some of them. That’s how I ended up meeting these guys, and after a while I was finally able to get one of them in front of the camera to feature. Take that social anxiety!

Back In Black
________________________________
Apparently 2016 was a good year for me. I went out to more events back then, and I was starting to shoot something I had just started getting into- drifting. I guess if you want to get technical late 2015 is when it started, but I hate odd numbers so we’ll kinda just yaknow, round up. The Lone Star Drift event in Houston was one of the first places I got to shoot anything like this- and at the 2016 Round 1 event, I saw Joshs’ S14 for the first time. I know – I know, “you still dont’ know anything, this car isn’t even a S14” – obviously. But as some of us know, some cars don’t stick around forever, and sometimes a good deal comes along that you just can’t pass up – no matter how many long nights might be in store for you.
